If so, now is the time to begin earning the CVA
(Certified in Volunteer Administration) credential,
originally developed by the Association for
Volunteer Administration and now sponsored by the
Council for Certification in Volunteer
Administration (CCVA). CCVA offers this unique
program to recognize practitioners in the field of
volunteer resources management who meet specified
standards as measured through a testing process and
peer review of a written portfolio. Deadline: March
1, 2007 (Early Bird Registration Deadline: January
1, 2007).

AmeriCorps*National Programs
Is your organization addressing a critical community
need? Could gaining a dedicated, enthusiastic team
of committed individuals help your organization do
even more? If so, you are invited to explore the
AmeriCorps National grant opportunities funded by
the Corporation for National and Community Service.
AmeriCorps programs provide opportunities for
individuals âÃÂàAmeriCorps members âÃÂàto serve
communities across the country.
The Corporation for National and Community Service
is an independent, federal grant-making government
agency whose mission is to support people and
organizations in using citizen service as a strategy
to meet critical national and community needs and to
foster an ethic of civic responsibility.
Funding is available for organizations interested in
applying for AmeriCorps*National program grants.
AmeriCorps*National grants are made directly by the
Corporation to public or private nonprofit
organizations, institutions of higher education,
government entities within states or territories,
Indian Tribes, and consortia of the aforementioned.
There are five types of AmeriCorps*National grant
opportunities available:
âÃÂâ AmeriCorps*National Direct
âÃÂâ AmeriCorps*National Professional Corps
âÃÂâ AmeriCorps*National Planning grants
âÃÂâ AmeriCorps*National Education Award Program
âÃÂâ AmeriCorps*Indian Tribes
The deadline for AmeriCorps*National Applications is
February 15, 2007. Detailed information, including
the Notice of Funding Opportunities and the

Technical Assistance Conference Calls for
AmeriCorps*National Applicants will be held in
November 2006 âÃÂàJanuary 2007 for all interested
